The food industry is an important part of the Palestinian economy, as it contributes the national economy by providing a huge number of jobs, as well as, it can play an important role in increasing the standard of living. Salah Commercial Company is considered to be one of the most leading companies in this industry.

Salah Commercial Company was established in 1970 by its owners, Nazmi Salah and his sons. The company started to work in the commercial field, as a joint-stock company, and its specialty in the food commercial field. In 1984 the company became an industrial company, which its specialty in the food industry, as it started in producing some kind of candies. After then it started to produce more types of foodstuffs, such as, potato chips, corn chips, and wheat-grain chips.

In 2003 Salah Commercial Company acquired the Palestinian standards and quality certificate (PS), which it has the same standards as the ISO 9001, as it refers to the internal processing and the development of all quality programs.

The company after then established three new departments; the quality department, the lab department, and the research and development department in order to guarantee the highest level of quality, to make all kinds of laboratory tests, and to satisfy the customer needs.
